Kubuntu SSD auf Fehler überprüfen

Moin,
habe das Problem, das Kubuntu 15.10 des öfteren "einfriert". Das passiert ohne erkennbaren Grund, und unregelmäßig.
Kann mir jemand ein Programm / Tool empfehlen, mit dem ich die Festplatte auf Fehler überprüfen kann?
Kenne mich leider damit noch nicht so aus. Bin Anfänger in Sachen Kubuntu.

Den grundsätzlichen Hinweis zu Kubuntu in dem anderen Beitrag hast du gelesen?

Alternativen

Bei "Freezes" würde ich zunächst mal den Arbeitsspeicher testen. Dazu im Bootmenü das Tool "Memtest86" starten. Es ist ein Endlostest und muss mit ESC beendet werden. Mindestens einen "Pass" (wird angezeigt, ca. 1 Stunde) durchlaufen lassen. Es darf kein Error angezeigt werden. Bootest du ohne Auswahl direkt in Kubuntu, direkt nach dem Start die SHIFT-Taste drücken, dann wird das Auswahlmenü angezeigt.

Memtest sagt Speicher fehlerfrei.

Also wenn ich das alles richtig interpretiert habe, dann sind keine Fehler vorhanden.
Was ich ein wenig merkwürdig finde, ist das der Rechner seit dem Test nicht mehr eingefroren ist.
Hat das Programm irgendeine automatische Reparaturfunktion?

Schade daß das nachträglich nichts hilft, weil die Leerzeichen bereits durch die HTML-Ausgabe wegrationalisiert wurden. Da bleibt von der hübschesten Tabelle nur Zeichensalat übrig ... :(
