Ubuntu Server 10.04 - hdparm wirkt nicht

Hallo zusammen,
in meinem Ubuntu Server 10.04 betreibe ich insgesamt 4 Festplatten, von denen jeweils zwei 1x wöchentlich gespiegelt werden. An "Nutzplatten" sind also eigentlich nur zwei vorhanden, die Bootplatte sda und die Datenplatte sdc.

Mein Plan ist, 3 der Festplatten, schlafen zu legen (standby nach 30 Minuten), so dass zum einen keine Energie durch sie verbraucht wird und zum anderen kein Verschleiß stattfindet. Dazu habe ich in die /etc/rc.local die Einträge "hdparm -S /dev/sd..." eingegeben, so dass Sie beim Booten entsprechend angewiesen werden.

Leider sind die Festplatten lt hdparm -C /dev/sd... ständig im Zustand "active/idle"

Zuvor hatte ich openSUSE im Einsatz. Damals hat zumindest das noch funktioniert.

Es handelt sich um folgende Festplatten:
2x Western Digital WDC WD10EACS-00D6B1 (gespiegelte Datenplatten)
1x Samsung HD160JJ/P (Bootplatte)
1x Maxtor 6Y160M0 (Klon der Bootplatte)

Eine der WD-Platten und der Klon der Bootplatte sind nicht gemountet, solange keine Datensicherung auf Ihnen durchgeführt wird. Im Anschluß an die jeweilige Sicherungsaktion sollen die Platten sogleich wieder ins Standby mittels "hdparm -y /dev/sd..." auch das bleibt dann nur kurz so. Anschließend sind auch diese Platten wieder "active/idle"

Leider habe ich keine Idee, warum die Festplatten trotz offensichtlicher inaktivität nicht im Standby verbleiben.

Hat hier jemand einen Tip für mich? ?(

Ein entsprechender Eintrag sollte in die /etc/hdparm.conf. Zeig doch mal die Ausgabe von:

der Wert lautet: hdparm -S 241 /dev/sd... wobei die Platten sdb, sdc und sdd schlafen gelegt werden sollen

In die /etc/hdparm.conf habe ich bislang nichts eingetragen. Ist das besser als den Befehl zur Bootzeit abzusetzen?

Imho gehört das in die hdparm.conf. Dafür ist sie da.

Ein Eintrag kann so aussehen:

Sollte das nicht laufen, bist Du eventuell von diesem Bug betroffen. Da mal die Version prüfen und den Tips aus dem Bugreport nachgehen.

inzwischen habe ich hdparm upgedatet (V9.32-1)und die betroffenen Festplatten in die /etc/hdparm.conf eingetragen:

Habe gleiches System; gleiches Problem!
Alle Platten, selbst die nicht gemountet legen sich nicht schlafen, sondern rödeln durch!

.....keine Ahnung warum..... ?( ?( ?(
