kann USB Platte nicht mounten

Moin Moin!

Ich habe eine externe USB Festplatte, auf der verschiedene NTFS und FAT32 Partitionen sind.
Doch aus mir unerfindlichen Gründen kann ich nix davon mounten.
Ich habe nun schon Stunden zugebracht hier im Forum nach ähnlichen Problemen zu suchen und alle möglichen Dinge probiert, doch noch hat nix geholfen.

Leider kann ich mit alldem nicht viel anfangen, da ich erst ein Linuxeinsteiger bin. Ich erkenne nur, dass zumindest etwas mit USB und meiner Platte erkannt wird. Doch sehe ich den Fehler nicht wirklich und wie ich den beseitigen kann.
Freue mich daher über jede Hilfe!

Das habe ich auch als root probiert. Da kommt auch nix.
Was sagt mir das nun?

Da werden nur die lokalen Partitionen angezeigt, von einer externen ist da nix zu sehen.

hm...
bei meiner externen platte werden auch diese partitionen angezeigt....
die läuft bei mir zwar unter /dev/sde aber ansonsten...

die fstab ist eigentlich nur beim booten oder bei einem "mount -a" wichtig...

der fehler liegt wohl irgendwo früher.

schau dir mal die datei /proc/bus/usb/devices an... ist da deine platte aufgelistet?

p.s.: bin jetzt leider gleich weg, aber vielleicht findet sich ja sonst jemand, der am sonntag noch etwas zeit hat ;)

Also bei /proc/bus/usb/devices gibt es nur "einen" Eintrag, den ich nicht verstehe, die restlichen sind abermals keine Externe...

Hallo,

ich habe nun nochmal neuinstalliert. (nicht alleine deswegen, aber trotzdem...) Doch es hat nichts geholfen!
Selbst ein Knoppix aus der c't 4/2004 hat die Platte ohne Probleme automatisch eingebunden.
